Top 5 memes
Jacobyak_boy on July 29th, 2005 06:24 am (UTC)
Hmm... they're all a bit ephemeral for me to remember them specifically.
I'll just choose some vague categories.

5. Quizzes that actually test your knowledge, not your "personality".
4. Which of these have you read/seen/done? Only if done well and not too long
3. Anything to do with movie/TV/book/song quotes.
2. Icon creation memes.
1. Interview memes.

Top five meme types that I hate:

5. Memes with really bad spelling or grammar, that gets passed on unedited.
4. "What flower/comic book character/archangel are you?" quizzes. Used to be interesting, but it got real old.
3. Multiple results to the previous type of meme not behind a cut. It's the only thing I really think needs to be behind a cut, and not because of bandwidth.
2. Anything that asks you to "tag" those you want to do it next.
1. Saying nice things about people. Words can't describe what a stupid idea I think this is.
Jacobyak_boy on July 29th, 2005 06:27 am (UTC)
To clarify, I don't think it's a stupid idea to say nice things about people, but I really hate the memes that are about giving compliments to people. Especially if it means the person has to ask to receive a compliment.

I mean, for fuck's sake.

It's hard to tell who's more needy. The person asking for the compliment or the person asking to be asked to give a compliment?
