Some movies I finally got around to seeing recently (Part III)
Saw

Wow. What a goddamn awesome film. This is easily the best film of its genre (however you choose to categorise it). It is, of course, not for the squeamish.

It truly has the best twist ending of any of these psycho-killer type movies (this movie shits all over Se7en in so many ways). It is just the coolest double-bluff. I practically groaned out loud when it was "revealed" that the orderly was the killer, and to have that turned on its ear in the last moment of the film was just awesome. It was one of those moments when I guessed the twist just as it was being revealed (while the guy was searching for the keys in the orderly's pockets, I figured he was going to find that tape recorder), which is the perfect moment to have that "aha!" revelation. And when the dead guy stood up from the floor, it truly was a moment worthy of Kaiser Soze.

Oh, yeah, and when the "killer" was holding a gun to the wife and daughter's heads, it was really pissing me off that it didn't seem to fit the killer's established pattern. I love it when a film's twist ending makes earlier parts of the film make sense. It all falls into place...

Now I have to see the sequel. Has anyone seen it? Is it any good?

omg you poor deprived boy! i went to see that twice at the movies because I loved it so much and got it almost as soon as it came out. Love it, so good and gory and oh my god did not see that at all! I'm actually going to see the sequel next week with Steph and I can't wait. People who have seen it already said it was good, even if some of them hadn't seen the first one.

Cool.

I hadn't even realised it was currently on at the cinema. Now I must go and see it.
