The question on everybody's lips...
How much did the Italians pay the ref?

what's done is done. It's not like they can review the penalty and change the outcome of the match ... can they ?

They can do whatever they want. I very much doubt, however, that they would do such a thing; it would set a rather unsettling precedent.

Well, no, or at least they wouldn't do that.
But, really, the point is that the standard of refereeing, at least for Australia's matches, has been woeful, and that's something FIFA really needs to examine.

That is not entirely fair. The ref was moronic in both directions.

I actually thought the ref was pretty good until he gave the Italians the winning goal.

He didn't stand there and physically kick the ball for them ... so therefore he didn't GIVE them the winning goal

Giving a penalty is almost the same thing.

Besides, just wait. In another four years the Aussies will have an even stronger team. Just wait and see.

I'm with you there, I'm much more positive than my brother is.
