With a caveat that it really depends on how I am feeling with regards pulp at the time.

Pulp is only for orange juice, and occasionally pineapple. All other juice should be pulp free.
Jacobyak_boy on July 24th, 2006 08:27 am (UTC)
The question applies only to orange juice.
Jacobyak_boy on July 24th, 2006 09:41 am (UTC)
Although I can't think what other juices even come with pulp.
Apart from fresh squeezed, of course.

There's cloudy apple juice, but that's not really the same thing.

Grapefruit, Mixed juices (orance mango etc), and mandarin.
Jacobyak_boy on July 25th, 2006 02:28 am (UTC)
Nothing wrong with pulpy mandarin juice.

Also, I am not totally convinced that you are not just trying to incite LJ-drama.

Jacobyak_boy on July 24th, 2006 09:21 am (UTC)
You couldn't be more wrong if you tried.
Cassandracassie_lee on July 24th, 2006 09:33 am (UTC)
sure i could. cos I'm not wrong.

I have issues with food texture... i also can't deal with mashed potato
Jacobyak_boy on July 24th, 2006 09:38 am (UTC)
Oh, mashed potato is heavenly. If done right.
Cassandracassie_lee on July 24th, 2006 10:50 am (UTC)
i can deal with it in certain ways... in other ways it sets off my gag reflex, no idea why.

tell me about that! I have an irish mother (so you'd think she could cook a spud right? wrong!) She undercooks them in the microwave and then mashes them plain, with a fork. I have many memories of nearly gaging at the dinnertable, sitting in front of the damn stuff for an hour (not being alowed to leave the table) and then getting to school the next day to find that i had the left over, cold day old mush for lunch! Errrrr.... the memories.

I thnk I need post potato therapy.
Cassandracassie_lee on July 26th, 2006 01:16 pm (UTC)
ewww cold mashed potato... just the thought is setting me off. My bf can eat cold anything. He just takes it out of the fridge and eats it. With some things it really creeps me out.

Mashed potato disappoints me because I love all other forms of potato.
bare_feetedbare_feeted on July 27th, 2006 04:46 am (UTC)
i'm a sucker for chips and gravy! so bad and so good.
Cassandracassie_lee on July 27th, 2006 12:06 pm (UTC)
hot chips are my heaven
Jacobyak_boy on July 27th, 2006 04:53 am (UTC)
I have a friend who eats cold baked beans from the can.
Cassandracassie_lee on July 27th, 2006 12:08 pm (UTC)
blah. my bf eats raw cold tortalini(sp?)
sjlsjl on July 24th, 2006 10:48 pm (UTC)
Funny. I love my orange juice with pulp. It's not genuine orange juice unless it has pulp. (The converse is, however, not necessarily true.)

But when it comes to mashed potato, pumpkin soup, and other such foods that seem to be hovering in between "solid" and "liquid", my gag reflex kicks in. Go figure.
Cassandracassie_lee on July 25th, 2006 09:21 am (UTC)
yeah, that's my problem. My mouth can't figure out what it is and attempts to reject it. It annoys me that i don't like pulp though, cos I love orange juice

I reckon the preference for pulp could have to do with the quality of the juice. Cheap and nasty juice made from concentrate is pulp free. If, like me, your parents gave you this long life juice made from pulp as a kid, rather than anything even remotely fresh, then I think there is an association between juice with pulp and quality.

Alternately there are plenty of cheap and nasty fruit drinks out there that have pulp even though there is very little juice. I'd much rather pure, fresh juice without pulp than cheap and nasty fruit drink with pulp.
Jacobyak_boy on July 24th, 2006 11:45 am (UTC)
I don't really remember what we had as kids.

What prompted the question, however, was that at the supermarket they had the same brand of OJ in the pulpy and pulp-free varieties. Both good quality 100% juice (Daily Juice Company), just one had the pulp removed.

And it just made me think about how much more I prefer my juice to be pulpy. I'm not even sure why, but it's just so much better with pulp.

Like crunchy peanut butter. Although it's less of a mystery why that's better than smooth.

i found juice with damiana in it the other day. not normally a juice buyer (own a juicer so why bother) but i could't help myself. Half a litre and i was high! It was pretty funny.
Jacobyak_boy on July 27th, 2006 04:48 am (UTC)
Can't say I've ever experienced damiana.

RUN to your local supermarket! definately a cure for office boredom.
Jacobyak_boy on July 27th, 2006 04:56 am (UTC)
Do you have a cure for office dissatisfaction, angst and apathy?
bare_feetedbare_feeted on July 27th, 2006 05:09 am (UTC)
How about not woking in an office?

or at least not working as a robot in an office that can't affort to buy actual robots....

you're a smart and talanted boy and i'm sure that there's plenty of thngs you could do to make some cash for yourself where you actually get to use your brain or work less hours for the same $

BTW, i'm in meb on the weekend we should have a coffee. I'll text you on sat.
Jacobyak_boy on July 27th, 2006 05:23 am (UTC)
I actually don't mind some office work, it just depends on the office. But, yes, your solution is right; I need to get a new job.

I'm busy all day Saturday, but am free during the day on Sunday.
bare_feetedbare_feeted on July 27th, 2006 05:33 am (UTC)
