Upper house results
Can anyone tell me where I can find an update on the Victorian upper house election results?

The ABC website stopped updating its count and predictions on Saturday (apparently the election is no longer interesting once you've found out who won the lower house) and the VEC website is too official and, of course, none of the upper house seats have officially been won yet. However, someone somewhere must have a detailed prediction of how many seats each party has won.

Thanks, somehow I figured you might be the one in the know.

It's still an interesting battle to see if Labor will get a majority in the upper house, and if not who will hold the balance of power. I just don't understand why the ABC's coverage is so woeful.

I share your frustration.

Would it be that hard for at least one of the news outlets to have a simple page outlining progress?

Heh. Father mine likes to vote below the line, and run up the column (so reading down a column of five candidates, you'd see "5 4 3 2 1" instead of the more regular "1 2 3 4 5".)

After I heard about the ALP's stunt at the previous Federal election that saw Steve Fielding elected to the senate, I made a point of voting below the line that year. This year, I made a point to check the party tickets to make sure their preferences matched mine - in this instance, they did, so I voted above the line. And I'll be doing the same thing every election from now on: double check that what I'm voting, be it the party line or my own, matches my desires, not some compromise cooked up in a back-room deal.

I only wish more people did this ...

I'll have you know that my parents were in full, legal wedlock when I was both conceived and born, thank you very much.

there's no-one else worth electing

Correction:

There's no-one worth electing.
