Mic'ed up
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I am suddenly looking forward to Adam Gilchrist's retirement from cricket.
He is dead-set going to be the best commentator ever.

He certainly can't be any worse than Tony Greig ...

I fucking hate Tony Grieg's biased arse.

Like when the English batsmen finally hit a couple of boundaries in one over and he said "a few more shots like that and they'll get close to this target".

Bullshit, Tony, the required run-rate (at that point) was more than 20, they never threatened to get anywhere near the target.

Although it's nowhere near as bad as when South Africa are touring.

The latest 12th man album Boned! suggests that Bill Lawry is biased towards the Aussies, which is a fair assessment. However, these guys are commentating for Australian TV. We want them to biased towards Australia. We certainly can't stomach them being biased towards the opposition like the laughable Tony Grieg.

I don't like it when the commentators are blatently biased towards either team. They are there to comment on the game. If the opposition makes a good shot off a bad ball, they should be applauded, and the Aussies derided. If the reverse is the case, the reverse applies.

Not commenting on bad Australian decisions is almost as bad as overhyping the opposition.

The ABC commentary seems to get it right more often than the Channel Nine team, by and large. Shame that 9 has put a delay into the broadcast, such that the commentary comes before the video, nowadays ...

Last night's game was great. I got a great laugh from the novelty of having players mic'ed up. You can't take a game seriously when you have commentators urging the batsman to go for his third six.
