She's dead, wrapped in plastic.
One time I rented series one of Twin Peaks, put it on and immediately felt like I had missed something.
I knew there was at least one film associated with the show, and thought maybe that came first, accounting for why I felt like I had come into the story half way, even though I was watching the very first episode.

Of course, I realise now that that feeling was probably simply due to the fact that the series was the brainchild of David Lynch.

My real question is, is this a show worth watching?

When it was on tv it was worth watching, but whether it stood the test fo time I have no idea. With shows out there like Lost and Heroes, could Twin Peaks be any more than a nostalgic classic?

Yes, it's meant to be that way. The film came after the TV show and explains stuff before and after the events of the show.
