Book Crossing
This is an awesome idea.
You register a book on the website, put a label on it with a unique ID and the website address, then you leave the book somewhere for someone to find.
That's right, you give your book away to a random stranger.
Hopefully, someone will pick up the book, read it, then come to the website to let you know that they found your book.

Cool or what?
It's been around for a while, but I only just found out about it via i-am-bored.com.

So everyone should join up and start sending your books out into the wild.

It's my plan for next year, to try and get rid of a lot of the books I don't read anymore, before I go overseas.

Oh, I found out about it through the melbourne freecycle group.

Hey, if you're getting rid of books you don't want, why not give them to me, a complete stranger, rather than to...er, another complete stranger. I'm always looking for more books.

Actually, that's quite an acceptable part of what Book Crossing does.

The only caveat is that you have to give it to someone else when you're done (or leave it "in the wild"), and if possible write a "journal entry" at the website.

So, do you want Lullaby by Chuck Palahniuk (the book I currently have listed as "available")?

Already joined.
I released a few books last semester at TAFE. Bloody good idea isn't it?
