What is with telemarketers/call centres that don't understand that someone who hangs up on you is not interested?

How many times do I have to hang up on you, Optus?
If I want you to do an analysis of how much I could possibly save by switching phone carriers I will contact you.
That of course will never happen, but that's a sad fact that you'll just have to deal with.

The delicious irony of their cold-call tactics is that I currently have a mobile phone on the Optus network, and the only thing their telemarketing has convinced me to do (other than hanging up, obviously) is to switch to Virgin Mobile.

For a couple of months there I was getting a dozen Indian Call Centre calls per week for Southern Cross Telecom, trying to get me to switch deals.

It would usually end up like this
`I'm not interested'
`But sir, don't you want to save money?'
`Absolutely not' (click)
