Less than fun ways to wake up in the morning
#1 Literally screaming in pain.

I had previously attributed my occasional leg cramps to alcohol-induced dehydration. However, last night I didn't drink at all. I did have two cups of coffee early in the evening, but I also had a fair bit of water. Oh well, the extreme agony was quickly replaced with a dull ache that will have me limping for a couple of days. I think I startled the cat.

In other fun news, last night's sore throat became this morning's wheezing sore throat. Naturally I reached for the Ventolin, but that only served to set off a coughing fit which ended in me discharging an unnatural amount of phlegm. TMI, I'm sure, but the point is that I am both sick and in pain.

Whinge, whinge, whinge.

Well, what are you waiting for? Go and buy some bananas and throw your salt in the bin.

I don't add salt to anything other than chips.

But, as I say, it's really more to do with staying properly hydrated. Your body will always be full of salt - you just need to make sure you have enough water to keep it balanced. Too much water can cause a salt deficiency, as well, so you have to be careful not to drink too much.

It's actually possible to die from being over-hydrated (but, very difficult).

Don't you have to drink over 6 litres of water a day to over-hydrate.

I drink two litres of water a day... I'm not going to over-hydrate, am I?

Yes, to over-hydrate you need to drink bucket-loads.

Two litres a day sounds pretty good to me.
