1. Elaborate on your default icon.
My default icon is something that is constantly changing, but currently it is a promotional picture for the upcoming TV show Jericho. If you can't tell what's going on in the picture, it is a young boy staring at a mushroom cloud. I've seen the pilot, but now have to wait another month or two to see any more.
2. What's your current relationship status?
Yeah, I look forward to this question on the census. Single. Never married. No dependents.
3. Ever have a near-death experience?
No. The sickest I've ever been was when I had tonsilitis, and the most life-threatening accident I've ever had was when I was tripped over at primary school and got a mild concussion.
4. Name an obvious quality you have.
I have a beard.
5. What's the name of the song that's stuck in your head right now?
I didn't have one until I read the question, then Kylie Minogues' Can't Get You Out Of My Head popped in there. Gee, thanks a lot.
6. Any celeb you would marry?
I don't know any celebs that well to know whether I'd want to marry them. So, a more useful question would be about which celebrities I want to fuck. Now, that's a long list. Oh well, pity that wasn't the question.
7. Who will cut and paste this first?
I hate it when I'm asked to make judgements about the people who read my LJ. So, I'm going to say no-one. No-one will continue this meme. Prove me wrong, I dare you.
8. Has anyone ever said you look like a celebrity?
Well, I have told people that I look like Natalie Portman (although I don't anymore). Otherwise, I've been told I look like John Lennon (although, that was when I was skinny and deliberately cultivating the look) and around the same period I was told I look like Eddie Vedder by some drunk chick who tried to pick me up at the train station to get some kind of revenge on her boyfriend.
9. Do you wear a watch? What kind?
Not lately. I have a really nice watch, but I don't like the way it works (self-winding). So it lies fallow on my desk.
10. Do you have anything pierced?
Not since I let my ear piercing close over about 7 years ago.
11. Do you have any tattoos?
No, but I want to get something on my left upper arm. I'm not rushing into it. I'm waiting until I see a design that I really fall in love with. It hasn't happened yet, and it may never happen.
12. Do you like pain?
13. Do you like to shop?
Far too much. I think I'm something of a spendaholic.
14. What was the last thing you paid for with cash?
Hungry Jacks, sadly. It was peer pressure. Nick and Kim wanted to go there after leaving the pub last night.
15. What was the last thing you paid for with your credit card?
16. Who was the last person you spoke to on the phone?
My brother, lukeii. He asked me to tingle his phone for some reason, then sent me a picture of some rather fake tits to say thanks.
17. What is on your desktop background?
A cool drawing of a tin robot.
18. What is the background on your mobile phone?
The cast of Scrubs.
19. Do you like redheads?
Yes, I think they are incredibly hot. Well, female redheads, anyway. My first major girlfriend was a redhead. I mean, she still is a redhead, obviously. Anyway, I can remember liking redheads even before we got together, so I chalk it down to genetic predisposition. In other words, I like redheads because I'm of Irish descent.
The girl in question now reads my LJ, so it will be interesting to see what she thinks of my answer. And what insomnius thinks of my answer also. And anyone else who reads this that I've forgotten is a hot redhead.
Oh, and this applies only to natural redheads. Bottled redheads can also be incredibly hot, but it really depends.
20. Do you know any twins?
Yes, I know at least one set of identical twins even. Although I don't really see them very often. They always kept their hair different colours anyway, so it was never a challenge to tell them apart.
21. Do you have any weird relatives?
Who the hell doesn't?
22. What was the last movie you watched?
The Wind That Shakes The Barley, about the Anglo-Irish war and its aftermath. Violence and death, but with lovely Irish accents and one hot redhead (and a crapload of male redheads). You're all going to think I am obsessed with redheads.
23. What was the last book you read?
I just re-read He Died With a Felafel in his Hand by John Birmingham. An easy, amusing read. I am currently reading Stephen Fry's The Ode Less Travelled, which is a guide to writing poetry, with practical excercises. I bought it partly because I'm a huge Stephen Fry fan and partly because it has information on how to write all the different forms. So far, it is highly entertaining. Stephen Fry has such a command of the English language. I mean, he's a great writer - not, as he himself admits, a great poet. But the point is, really, that he makes a good teacher.
