Back To School
I got an early offer today from Victoria University. I've been accepted into the Bachelor of Arts (Professional Writing) course that a few of my TAFE colleagues went into when we finished the Diploma.

I'm still hoping to get (back) into Melbourne Uni, but this was kind of my minimum comfortable offer that I am certain I want to accept. So that means that I'm definitely going back to study next year.

Damn, if the Liberals had won the election I'd have had free public transport. Remind me again why I voted for the Greens and Labor ahead of the Liberals. :P

Nice work! I always enjoyed ur writing, should be interesting for you to do. Why didn't you do it straight after we finished TAFE? I got accepted into it straight after but went for Arts instead. Which was a mistake, probably should have stayed with that. But oh well, think I'm on the right path now.

I thought Labor was offering free public transport as well? Or at least lower rates?

They are apparently "reducing" fares for concession tickets, but the exact reduction hasn't been specified. The other main change will be the abolition of Zone 3.

After we finished TAFE I went into the Advanced Diploma of Screenwriting, but I had two problems with that:

1. I didn't feel like I was learning anything all that different to what I had already learnt, and an Advanced Diploma is hardly a more impressive qualification than a Diploma.

2. I was kind of sick of study.

Given that, believe it or not, I am naturally a fairly poor student and have to get pretty motivated to do well, I felt that leaving the course was a better option than flunking out.
