Luckily, for most areas of study, you only require one subject at first year to be eligible for a major. So, basically how it'll work is that I'll complete one semester of first year subjects and then, in semester 2, I will begin my second-year subjects. So, I should have my BA in 2.5 years instead of 3.
It's a semester more than it would have been at Vic Uni, but it's so worth it.
I haven't chosen my semester 2 subjects yet because what I do will be determined by what I decide to major in. One downer to this is that I'll have less time to decide on my majors, but since I already know I want to major in Creative Writing, it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
In the meantime I've got first-year subjects as placeholders in semester 2, and I do have the option to not take the semester's credit if I want to do a full first-year. Sif.
So, for semester 1 I am enrolled in the following:
Creative Writing: Ideas and Practice
Introduction to Hollywood & Art Cinema
Medieval Europe: Plague, War & Heresy
Science, Philosophy & History
