Party like it's 2006
I wanted to have a birthday party for my 25th.

That was a year ago, and it didn't happen due to circumstances at the time.

So, I want to have a birthday party this year.

My birthday is in a week, and I haven't organised anything.

I was thinking maybe the weekend after my birthday, but I might instead go for the weekend after that.

I thought maybe the 31st of March would be a good date, then it can be a celebration of, not just my birthday, but also of my financial commitment to returning to study (HECS census date). Not that accruing a HECS debt has stopped me from dropping out previously.

The only issue is venue. Since I'm living in the house of great travel inconvenience (especially when inebriated), I don't think that's the best place for it. I'm thinking a pub would be okay, but it'd have to be somewhere relatively quiet on a Saturday night, since I'm rarely in the mood for shouting over loud music, or being squashed in amongst big crowds of people.

So, any suggestions?

31 March is the first day of the school holidays. :) A good time for a celebration!
